Suppose I am viewing a file "picture.jpg". I do "Save As...", choose the PNG filter, enter the filename "picture" (with no extension), and save. Kview should save the file as "picture.png".

Instead, it tries to save it as "picture" and fails silently (this is another bug which has already been reported).

Kview is no more mantained/developed. This bug wish will not be fixed until a new developer will work on it. Moreover this product is not ported to KDE4. On KDE4 it has been replaced by another software. I'm closing this bug as "unmantained". I'm sorry.
