Version: 1.3 (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 3.3.1 OS: Solaris After koffice's configure script told me that fontconfig was needed and giving a URL for the download I installed fontconfig 2.2.0, the latest stable release. However, as the new fontconfig version does not use fontconfig-config but instead pkgconfig information. Hence, the configure script fails to see that it's available.
kdebase/kcontrol/fonts/configure.in.in has a check for both the fontconfig-config, and the newer pkg-config fontconfig system. Perhaps this could be used?
I can't duplicate. The only use of fontconfig I can see is for karbon, and Dirk fixed this in version 1.26 (with a cleanup at 1.27) - http://webcvs.kde.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/koffice/karbon/configure.in.in.diff?r1=1.25&r2=1.26&f=h. My only concern is that the fix was mid 2003, and the report is against 1.3.0 in Feb 2004. Unless someone can see a problem, I think this can be closed.
Months with no response. Closing.
