Installed from:    Debian Package 4:2.2.2-13.woody.8 (3.0)
Compiler:          gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.2.20

When I select Midnight Commander from File menu in Console,a small icon for a window apperars at the nbottom ofKonsole and it is immediately aborted.When I do select Root midnight Commander,a new window apperas aski8ng me for my root password.When I enter Password,this window also disappers.

Does Midnight Commander run if you start "mc" in an existing shell?

No answer and ancient Konsole version.
