Description abrahams 2004-02-07 19:01:07 UTC
Version: 3.2.0 (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When I try to post a reply to a message that has been PGP-encoded,the quoted original message loses all its text -- I just get the "so-and-so wrote" header.

Are you talking about a signed message or an encrypted message?
Is the message signed/encrypted with the built-in support or with the OpenPGP plugin?
Are you using IMAP? If yes, then please try if turning off "Load attachments on demand" helps.

This sounds similar to an Issue in the Ägypten Issue Tracker:
https://intevation.de/roundup/aegypten/issue22

An important detail there is that it depends on how you invoke the reply:

When pressing "R" or using the the context menu of the message window
the original mail is quoted correctly. However, when using the context menu of
the list of messages the message isn't quoted.

to reproduce in kmail CVS:

1) select a PGP-encrypted email
2) enter passphrase
3) right click on the email in the folder-contents list
4) select "reply"

Works for me (KDE 3.5.7)
