Version:           Unbekannt (using KDE 3.2.0, SuSE)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.1 (SuSE Linux)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-166-default

When I resize the kmail panels in kontact, those sizes arent always remembered when i start kontact the next time. and the default size arrangements are less than useful; the message list panel is way too small.

Additionally, the splitters sizes are not remembered when switching between different parts of Kontact.

I can confirm this. As a workaround you can resize the panel/splitters 
in KMail then exit Kontact. When you restart Kontact the 
panel/splitter sizes will be remembered when switching between 
components.

I realize this isn't a fix, but it might help alleviate the annoyance.
