Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 CFLAGS="-march=i686 -O2 -pipe; CXXFLAGS="-march=i686 -O2 -pipe" OS: Linux When a konsole is started from file manager Tools->'Open Terminal', the konsole does not handle ^C and ^D correctly. ^C closes konsole, instead of closing an application started from the konsole. ^D does the same. This does not happen when the konsole is started from the KDE panel, start menu, or from 'Run Command'. The problem also occurs if I select 'Quick Browser'->'Home Folder'->'Open in Terminal'. If a second terminal is opened from the first, using 'Session'->'New Shell', the new terminal works correctly, but the original konsole still closes both on ^C or ^D. This can be worked around by changing the default terminal emulator to xterm.
Fixed for KDE 3.2.1
$ kstart konsole -> the same problem with CTRL+C $ konsole -> no problem Howto change the default terminal emulator to xterm ?
You can change the default terminal emulator from KDE Control Center: 'KDE Components'->'Component Chooser'->'Terminal Emulator'
