Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) Installed from: Slackware Packages Currently, you can bind a metacontact to a kaddressbook entry. It would be useful to have a "Send Mail" option in the Metacontact menu allowing to send a mail to the address in the addressbook.

Implemented in CVS. This will be in KDE 3.3, from alpha 2. Patch submitted by Reuben (blinkhacker).

You right click on the metacontact and click "Send Email". Done. The menu has Send Single Message Start Chat Send File Send Email Sync KABC
send email always been grayed out to me. (disabled)
On the metacontact menu, you can send email only if you choose a corresponding entry from the address book for the metacontact.
well, in other bug report I create long time ago which is closed for duplicate now I was suggesting the MSN contacts does not need metacontact setup. since their account system id IS an email. same for yahoo. why bother metacontacts when the email is write there the ID of the contact info. send email should be available for them.
You should merge the contact into the address book, then the option will be available. When you added the contact, you were asked if you wanted him in the addressbook. If you clicked 'yes' his email would have automatically been imported. You must have clicked 'no'.
I thought the question was "does the contact is already in my address book and I want to add it to kopete from my addressbook" so, now its too late ? I went to Change meta contact (that whole thing is really confusing) ( i hit cancel ) then I went to properties, I found a button "Merge with Address Book" but its disabled.
You must check "Has address book entry" and select a contact from there first.
what if the contact does not have addressbook entry ? I can't check "Has address book entry" as it is not true. maybe we could have something like "Create address book entry from contact" as a second choice ?
I never can use the option "send email" its everytime there but unavailible?? I can't find where to set an email program or is this option just for hotmail yahoo... If it is you shold think about to change it....
