I am using the option that changes the desktop background image every x minutes.

changing desktop fixes it of course ... probably just need to listen to some signal announcing that the desktop has changed its background image.

well it seems to work sometimes ... I am confused : I will try to find a pattern

I could confirm this behaviour with kdehead from yesterday. It does seem to need a kicker length < 100% to take effect and isn't always reproducable.

Cause some more guys note this as well on KDE 3.2 (see http://www.linuxforen.de/forums/showthread.php?threadid=121094, german board) I marked the bug as NEW.
