Description Marco Hofmann 2004-01-26 00:34:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 3.3.1 SuSE Linux 9.0
OS: Linux

Since I installed SuSE Linux 9.0 on my Laptop and compiled the current CVS kde during January (more Snapshots), konqueror crashes during starting, but all others application (including KDE) seems to run well.
The same source was compiled under SuSE 8.2 with some updates and the result was used in success. After I updated this second system to SuSE 9.0 and recompiled the CVS from scratch, I also have this konqueror crashes.
The latest snapshot was from 2004-01-19 (kdelib & kdebase).

I took the backtraces from both system, which are available. I didn't give more parameter to "./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3". It seems that this is the plugin-part, during start-up. Last kde call is "KParts::Factory::createObject(...) with result in "/lib/i686/libc.so.6" and "_assert_fail()".

I am running a Thosiba Laptop - Tecra with new Intel Chipset and a workstation with Athlon CPU. Maybe this is a problem with SuSE.
BYTW I installed all updates since 25th January, currently availabe from SuSE, but this was just because I coulnd't examine the error before.

Greetings,

Marco

P.S: Very good work overall !
