Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.94) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux Video thumbnail previews in konqueror are always made using the same video frame (and about the 1st minute of video). Would be possible to get the frames for the thumbnails randomly (and maybe getting the frame between the 5th and 10th minutes)? I think nautilus behavior with video previews is correct at this. Thanks in advance.
i think the bug i have reported before is similar : Bug 124043 (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124043)
This bug is very similiar to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124043 Regardless 4.x appears to always draw a random frame as a thumbnail.
Currently KDE 4 + "mplayer thumb plugin" previews ever the same frame but hovering the icon, a sequence of frames taken from the video is displayed sequentially. I think this bug can be closed: the current behaviour looks good.
Based on feedback in comment #3.
Hi, I've tested this bug again due the closing status and I've discovered that the sequence is no more shown... it is quite strange because I remember to have seen this behaviour recently. I've tried both kdemultimedia-mplayerthumbs and ffmpegthumbnailer and none works :-( @Dawit: would you like to test this bug again? Thanks.
FiNeX, I did a quick test and I do not see any sequences either. Perhaps the mplayer thumbnail generator was the one doing that and not the ffmpeg one. Anyhow, I have changed the status back to CONFIRMED. Thanks for checking and reopening.
