Description Christian Muehlhaeuser 2004-01-24 04:18:05 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

When I'm browsing a directory with files, I used to enter the filename on the keyboard and konqueror jumped across the filelist to the according files.

This doesn't happen here anymore since KDE_3_2_BRANCH cvs compile from 2004-01-22.

AH!

*damn* forgot: this only happens in "Detailed List View"!

Can't reproduce. It works fine for me, 3_2_BRANCH dated 20040121 (one day earlier) in Detailed List View.
Comment 3 Christian Muehlhaeuser 2004-01-24 05:59:28 UTC
okay, found out more about it :-)

it works if you're sorting for the name, but not for anything else (like file-type or modified).

Sorry, I still can't reproduce.
Comment 5 Pascal Létourneau 2004-01-24 22:27:59 UTC
With Qt 3.3, the sorted column is used to find the item.
I also find this new behavior annoying...

Can reproduce with 3.5.5: sort for anything but name and the entered keypresses will try to select the first matching item in the _sort_ column, not in the name column
Comment 9 Christian Muehlhaeuser 2008-01-13 22:57:43 UTC
ok, now i do understand how it's supposed to work (even tho i expected it to work differently). i guess i can accept that and i'll close the report as invalid therefore.
