Description Benjamin Kay 2004-01-23 23:18:22 UTC
Version: 1.2.3 (using KDE KDE 3.1.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-3.2.3-r3
OS: Linux

gnunet-stats is a utility from GNUnet. The homepage for GNUnet is http://www.ovmj.org/GNUnet/

The purpose of gnunet-stats is basically to output some statistics on the gnunet daemon to the console. These statistics include the uptime of the gnunet daemon in seconds. Normally, the current statistics are output, and then gnunet-stats terminates.

Starting with KDE-3.1.5, I've noticed that the output from gnunet-stats does not update. That is, the first time gnunet-stats is run (from konsole), the data displayed is normal. The next time gnunet-stats is run, the exact same data is displayed. Even the daemon's uptime is unchanged.

To see current statistics, I must close konsole and then open a new konsole. Or I can simply open a new konsole without closing the existing konsole. Either way will allow me to use gnunet-stats once in that new konsole. Subsqeuent calls to gnunet-stats simply print out the same statistics as the first incovation of gnunet-stats. source /etc/profile has no effet.

This problem does not occur in xterm or rxvt or from a non-emulated terminal. As near as I can tell, the problem is unique to konsole. A similar bug report has been made to the GNUnet developers.

Problem seems to be gone in KDE 3.2.2.
