Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc OS: Linux Just installed KDE 3.1.95 (SuSE RPMs from SuSE). Now, the klaptopdaemon no longer allows suspend or standby. The power control/laptop battery section of kontrol suggests to setuid /usr/bin/apm. This is already done and it worked on 3.1.5 before.
Still not fixed in KDE 3.2.0.

Still not fixed in KDE 3.2.2 (under Debian)
I updated to 3.2.2-2 (Debian version) and tried it again. It's not working. But then I went to "Configure Klaptop...." --> "APM Config" and deselect "Enable standby" and "[..]suspend". Then I clicked okay and select them again. It's working :-D Maybe someone can check it with an older version (and close the bug).
I find the same as Daniel in Comment #4 with KDE 3.2.3. Not very practical. Thus, I do not close this bug yet.
I have personally contacted the KLaptopDaemon author/assigned and he confirmed that the tool is deprecated in KDE SC 4 (replaced by PowerDevil) and that there are no current efforts to support/maintain the KDE SC 3 version. Because of this, I will close the reports as UNMAINTAINED. Regards
