Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc 3.3.3 OS: Linux The automatic encoding detectoion of utf-8 fails. http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/story-of-mel.html Is a good example. Switchting too utf8 manually fixes it.
This bug now appears to be fixed.
Using KDE 3.2.2 the encoding of http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/story-of-mel.html is still misdetected. Switching to UTF-8 manually fixes the problem. Reopen?
I still have problems with this using Konqueror 3.3.0 (using Gentoo). When automatic detection is set to semi-automatic UTF8 pages are fine but ISO-8859-1(5) pages are not detected and when automatic detection is set to western european, ISO-8859-1(5) pages work fine and UTF8 pages are not detected.
This problem is persisting in 3.3.1
Fixed in CVS HEAD
