Hi

I'm using KDE 3.2beta2 build from scratch using Gentoo.

I've got a e-mail account on an IMAP server which is runing: IMAP4rev1 2003.339 from University of Washington

Everything behaves very nicely and smooth except:
When I receive a mail sent from Microsoft Exchange
(Here comes the header entry of two different senders:
(X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft Exchange V6.0.6375.0)
(X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft Exchange V6.0.5762.3) )
I can read the mail on the IMAP account allthough the whole mail looks as an attachment.
Then when I move the mail (using filter to put it in the right folder) the mail gets stripped. The only thing thats left is the header and an empty attachment with the same name as the subject.

Before I used another server, with POP, and no problems. Microsoft Exchange or not.

If I should give more information about my build or/and settings pleas let me know. I now have received a backup copy of the mail that was corrupted by KMail. I can cut'n'paste from it, if it is of any use.

Please disable "Load attachments on demand" for the IMAP account and try if this fixes the problem. This problem seems to be similar to other problems with load on demand which have been fixed very recently. If possible please try if updating to the most recent cvs version helps.

An example message which demonstrates the problem would be very helpful.

I'm pretty sure that this is fixed in the current CVS. Anyway, can you
test this? If not please attach the email gzip'ed to this report so I can
test it.

Now I am a litle puzzled.

I have been trying to recreate the bug and have failed in doing so...

I have not changed anything in my setup.

I have restored the original mail from backup, changed its status to Answered (X-Status: A) and moved it to my inbox on the mailserver (using pine) and in KMail used a filter to fetch it to my local inbox. No problems. Then I started to move some other emails. And then KMail stripped another email, in fact the mail from postmaster, containing a gzipped archive of my recived emails... And he was using "Ximian Evolution 1.4.5" so Microsoft Exchange is not a keyword here...

So is there a way to reproduce it with 3.2 rc1 or higher?

Now I have finaly compiled 3.2rc1 and I have disable "Load attachments on demand". KMail fetched 200+ mails from the IMAP server to my local inbox, without a single fail.

So I mark this bug resolved.

Should I enable "Load attachments on demand" and see if I'll ever get a failure and if so enter a new bugreport? Or should I just leave it as it is?

Good.

Please test it with load-on-demand and reopen this report if you encounter
this problem.
