Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.2 3.3.1-2mdk)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-10mdk

The legends are great!  

It would be nice to have an option that the legends live in an opaque (in front of the plot) box (of settable colour, borders, etc)

Added option, together with ability to set foreground and background colors of 
the box.
