Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc OS: Linux in konqueror, when we look at file's meta information,we can get many useful info from it.we like this function. but for some files, such as floppy image file(*.img),there is no meta info, the file type shown as 'unkonwn',but the command 'file' works fine. why not use together the info provided by command 'file'?
"file" output is not very usable, because of problems with translations. It would help if you can identify (in some kind of priority order) which file types you specifically would like to see supported, and what meta-information is required for that file type. Then we can start planning when to add the required plugin.

All bugs and wishes which could be interesting for Dolphin in KDE 4 (the new KDE file manager) has been collected into a specific list. Please try the new file manager before request new features and report bugs. Before submitting new reports check carefully the already opened KDE/Dolphin reports in order not to add duplicates. Many thanks.
