Version: 1.5.3 (using KDE 3.1.3) Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-0.26mdk It seems that kmail smime plugin can not handle encrypted email if the encryption method used was RC2 (128bit). If I recive an email like that it will tele me (translated) : Status:Inner systemerror #0 ocurred. If 3DES (156) was used all is good. I noticed this problem when a friend sent me this type of emails from his email client thebat! it defaults to RC2 (128bit) encryption. If he changes to 3Des, I have no problem decrypting it. Additional info if it matters: $ /usr/bin/gpg-agent --version gpg-agent (GnuPG) 0.9.4 $ /usr/bin/dirmngr --version dirmngr 0.4.3 Cryptplug (/usr/lib/cryptplug/gpgme-smime.so) is from cryptplug-0.3.15-2mdk Mandrake 9.1 rpm Cheers

According to the issue10, this is indeed a KMail bug, because the error message is not displayed correctly.
Okay, the error message should be fixed.
I tried to duplicate this in KMail 1.10.1, but I don't think I have the right setup for it. This may (or may not) still be a bug.
Should this bug be closed?
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
