Description Paulo Moura Guedes 2003-12-09 04:37:06 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.1.94)
Installed from:    RedHat RPMs
Compiler:          gcc-3.3.2-1
OS:          Linux

Assuming you have Linux Colors schema, when you start konsole, it not displays correctly. The background is light gray and when you type all you can see is a dark gray background with no foreground. If you change window, when you turn back to konsole all you see is the background of the previous window, with the exception of the window menu and konsole menu titles.

Changing the schema to Konsole Default solves the problem.
I noticed that if you change to Green Tint schema, for example, the problem remains (i didn't tried all schemas).

Transparent background doesn't work too.
Comment 2 Paulo Moura Guedes 2003-12-09 05:23:41 UTC
This only happens when I'm using Gnome.
If I switch to KDE it works fine...

Transparency requires you to run kdesktop.

Is this the same problem?

Settings" | "Configure Konsole" | Tab Schema and select "Transparent, Light Background", press Apply and Ok.

Choose Settings | Save as Default.

The file ~/.kde/share/config/konsolerc seems correctly configured:

 schema=Transparent_lightbg.schema

But starting a new konsole (from a konsole or the kicker) does not use this mode.

No, it's a diferent problem. I'm going close this bug as I'm not being able to reproduce it since some time ago.
