Description Mohd Asif Ali Rizwaan 2003-11-10 21:22:10 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: Red Hat Linux 7.3
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (ASPLinux 7.3 2.96-113)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-5asp

Please allow right-click menu with keyboard shortcut, because, it will come handy when your mouse don't work, and for keyboard loving people.

Explanation:

With MOUSE you can get RMB menu easily:

1. open home folder with konq
2. RMB on any file/folder
3. If you RMB on any space (not on file) you get a different menu)
3. You can see the RMB menu OK

But with a KEYBOARD how:

1. open home folder by ALT+F1 h+o+m Enter
2. Now I want the RMB menu to copy and do other stuff as with a mouse.

I Want RMB menu with keyboard shortcuts for the following actions:

1. RMB on file (when selected with spacebar)
2. RMB (not on a file or when a file is not selected) in filemanager and on desktop

Please don't suggest mouse emulation... Thank you.

Even with the Edit Menu, I don't get COPY TO, MOVE to and other options present in the MOUSE RMB Menu. Thanks.

Additional info: feature which supports keybinding for mouse rmb action

Though the RMB (popup context menu) comes with MENU key when (renaming)

1. open home folder
2. select a file/folder
3. press f2 to rename
4. now press MENU key (or the key assigned to view popup context menu)

Now you can see the context menu which can also be seen by

a. RMB a file/folder
b. choose rename
c. now again press RMB for the popup context menu.

Using KDE 3.2.3 Slackware 9.1

Menu key brings 'Context Menu' on files and folders, and shortcuts.

thanks.

Please if possible enable MENU key on "hyper link" or "live links" like http://www.kde.org, we can move to the link using TAB key but pressin MENU key doesn't bring anything!

1. in this bug report (khtml)
2. press TAB key to go to a link
3. now press Menu Key
4. you get nothing

expected:

a. Popup of a menu as you would get with RMB click on a Link.

This is bigger problem -- menu-key is triggering context-menu as RMB is. It is a bug.

Try any page at empty space, then at links. Sometimes it works as expected but even then the position of menu is different then RMB /I mean: wrong/.

PS. Why is this report put in wishlist???

_Menu-key doesn't work_. It is a _bug_.
