Description Gregor Burger 2003-11-03 23:26:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 3.3.1
OS: Linux

when i call
kprinter foo-bar.ps
the printer dialog doesn't list the real printer just the pseudo
printers. printing manager does show it and kde applications, like
kword or kate, also, but not if it is called from non kde applications
like acrobat reader.

the printing subsystem is cups 1.1.18 the one shipped with suse 8.2.

That's strange, kprinter should act like any other KDE app that calls
the print dialog. Could you increase the debug level of the CUPS server
(in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, set "LogLevel" to "debug2", then restart CUPS
server), and monitor the log file /var/log/cups/error_log while calling
kprinter to check for abnormal log messages?

Michael.
