Description Andreas Hartmann 2003-11-01 08:10:06 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using KDE 3.1.93 (CVS >= 20031028), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.23-pre7

When starting 'noatun music.ogg' e.g. (or clicking in konqueror on an ogg file), noatun starts up and says, noatun would be stoped.

In strace, you can see, that noatun doesn't even try to load the file.

I have compiled noatun with ogg support:
ldd `which noatun`

Try installing mpeglib and mpeglib_artsplug from kdemultimedia.
Btw, Noatun doesn't load files, it's just a frontend to artsd and if something doesn't play it's most certainly an artsd problem.
Comment 2 Andreas Hartmann 2003-11-02 15:52:12 UTC
Subject: Re: noatun doesn't play ogg files

mpeglib and mpeglib_artsplug have been allways installed:

/opt/kde-3.2/lib/libarts_mpeglib-0.3.0.so.0.0.3
/opt/kde-3.2/lib/libarts_splay.so.0.0.0

Are these the correct and needed libs? These are the libs, which are found
in kdemultimedia/mpeglib_artsplug/.libs after compiling. Is there
something missing?

To which binary should they be linked to? Or is there a config-file, which
tells arts about the existence of these libraries?

Can't reproduce in KDE 3.2.2
