Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc 3.2.2 OS: Linux I cannot close root session with shortcut close session.
I can not reproduce what he is trying to do. I have a konsole open and I can close a root session (session from user root) by using ctrl-D (I am using KDE CVS head).

I've made cvs up today at 11AM (East Europe) and I can not close root session with "ctrl+shift+w" (shortcut for close session). ctrl+d is "internal" *nix command and has nothing common with this bug. In addition: menu entry "Close session" doesn't work on root session. AFAIU problem lies in permissions: ctrl+d is passed to session and is treated by shell as issued by root and closes shell. "Close session" action tries to close session "externally" which is impossible because common user (who issues this command) can not terminate root session. Because there is no real need to be so restrictive, this privilege awareness can be workarounded and Konsole should let "Close session" action to close root sessions.
Both "Close Session" and shortcut for it works for me with "Root Console", "Root Midnight Commander" sessions.

And for me not. CVS 31.10. Close action shortcut - Ctrl+Shift+W or anything else and don't work: shortcut, Close session from context menu and Close session from Tab menu.
KDE 3.2 Beta 1: CTRL-D works, choosing 'close session' from the context menu of the tab does not work.
