Hello, I do notice that there are several entries in the bug list concerning this problem, quite old entries, indeed. However, it does not work as expected :)

If I paste this URL into a new KMail message

http://www.tim.tu-berlin.de/lehre/archiv/02ws/02ws_vorlesung_projektmanagement/

then it is broken up into

http://www.tim.tu-berlin.de/lehre/

and

archiv/02ws/02ws_vorlesung_projektmanagement/

Just for your information, this is a bug in Qt 3.2.x. It will 
(hopefully) be fixed in Qt 3.2.3.
