Description Luis Reneau 2003-10-23 04:05:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

It would be nice to have the option to lock individual folders within a home directory to keep important files. Something along the lines of right clicking on a folder, selecting properties and have an option to "lock folder" and maybe even "change password" if you want the password of that folder to be different from your user password. So every time you click on a locked folder in your home directory you have to supply the password to access it.

Locking a directory should encript, otherwise it could be accessible from the shell. Probably it should be used an interface to existing encrypting software...

Anyway all reports about file management mode reported against KDE 3 (konqueror) has been closed: konqueror in KDE 3 is no more developed and mantained. All bugs and wishes which could be interesting for Dolphin in KDE 4 (the new KDE file manager) has been collected into a specific list.

Please try the new file manager before request new features and report bugs.

Before submitting new reports check carefully the already opened KDE/Dolphin reports in order not to add duplicates.

Many thanks.
