(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konsole Version: 0.9.15 Qt: 2.1.1 KDE: 2.0pre The konsole command line options to specify foreground/background color etc are (finally) present (according to "konsole --help-all") but they don't seem to have any effect. I have long been waiting for a way to pass color prefs on the command line such that I can launch konsoles with different color schemes for different hosts. I have so far been using kvt for that purpose but since kvt has been removed from kde2... Virtually all other terminal programs (e.g. Eterm rxvt gnome-terminal) allow you to specify color schemes on the command line but they are not kde-aware. I would also be happy if one could specify a schema on the command line (this was also suggested in bug #5760). Thanks -- Alex
Konsole's colors are configurable via schemas. The fg and bg items shown in --help-all do not work (as you discovered). They're shown as part of QT's options but they do not carry over into Konsole's behavior.
I also would like to use different color schemes for different hosts on konsoles opened from the command line. Is this problem being addressed at all in the new versions of kde ?
