Description Nick Shaforostoff 2003-10-15 19:05:49 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

Could you provide batch tagging - changing of id3tag fields using filenames (for all selected in playlist files).
For example
%D - directory name
%2 - second part of filename (12-secondpart.mp3)

mp3 files renaming (using id3tag fields)
%artist/%track-%title.mp3
or even
%artist/[%track-]%title.mp3
[] says to place track number in filename only if it exists

The good system of these patterns is present in foobar2000 (but it only for M$ Win :-(

Please, remember not to lost cp1251 compatibility, cause it's used (de-facto) for russian songs.

I don't think this is meant to be part of an mediaplayer and I'm sure I've seen apps doing exactly what you want.
Comment 2 Thiago Macieira 2003-10-15 21:55:50 UTC
Juk already does that.
Comment 3 Avi Alkalay 2003-10-17 22:54:48 UTC
Musicman does it.

Comment 5 Nick Shaforostoff 2003-11-17 20:09:42 UTC
But i can't find any of these progs in my asplinux kde distribution.
I don't like downloading additional software especially if i downloaded already 3cd distro.
We need rename program included in standard kdemultimedia package

JuK will be part of KDE 3.2 and Krename has RPMs available. If you don't like to install software then we can't help you.
