On the kdevelop website's home page, there is a list of supported programming languages.  All KDevelop's languages are listed except Shell.  I think enough people do shell scripting that it makes sense to have this listed on the front page rather than be buried on one line in the user manual.

KDE/Qt, GNOME, plain C, C++, Java, Ada, Perl, Python, Ruby and Pascal 
projects."
