Version: 4.0 (using KDE 3.1.92 (CVS >= 20031007), (testing/unstable)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031005 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-hadron After updating to the latest CVS snapshot (from http://oberlin.cems.umn.edu/kdecvs/debian), the MacOS-style toolbar flickers rapidly, even when I'm not doing anything. Flickers more when switching to a different app, and seems to slow the whole desktop down. Turned it off in the control center, and the problem does not occur with menubars in the application windows.
Same here (3.1.93 (CVS >= 20031028)). top shows: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 19227 root 16 -10 297m 32m 8980 S 47.5 12.8 17:58.97 XFree86 19360 wvl 11 0 13920 5936 4084 R 8.3 2.3 0:43.59 kdeinit 19356 wvl 10 0 11380 4088 3200 R 7.1 1.6 0:16.35 kdeinit 19368 wvl 10 0 11296 4944 4568 R 6.7 1.9 0:03.92 kdeinit 19430 wvl 11 0 10708 5408 3912 S 6.4 2.1 0:18.44 kdeinit 19358 wvl 11 0 11000 5956 5148 R 5.8 2.3 0:07.44 kdeinit 8430 wvl 11 0 18920 14m 12m S 5.8 5.8 0:01.82 kdeinit 19405 wvl 10 0 8840 3412 3260 S 5.5 1.3 0:02.61 kdeinit 19366 wvl 10 0 8352 3008 2416 R 4.6 1.2 0:03.45 kdeinit (This happens consistently. It's clear that setting this preference triggers the above results in top.) The same happens when you select the Desktop menubar preference.
Should be fixed now.
