Version:           4.0 (using KDE 3.1.9)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.2 20030908 (Debian prerelease)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-ck2-bbns

Greeting,
	Not only in konqueror but also in several KDE programs such as KOffice, Kate, ...,etc. Many of them I have to lauch with "-im xcin" parameter.
However, some programs are just fine, for instance: KMail and KNote.
The problems exist in KDE 3.1.4 through KDE 3.2 CVS Head, I have no problem with KDE 3.1.3.
I think kdelibs has some problems with that.

Konqueror has enough of its own bugreports, reassigning to kdelibs.

Finally I found the source of the problem. 
It is because the debian package of XFree86 4.3.0-0pre1v3. 
Downgraded to pre1v1 solved the problem.
