Big images make konqueror and whole KDE to operate very slowly.
Try for e.g. browse these images under the "big" links: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/qtluong/
Some very large images like this one http://www.sunpoint.net/~p_knuutinen/wtc-photo.jpg will freeze whole KDE (be careful with that image, it's 14MB)
