Version: 1.2-alpha (using KDE 3.1.9) Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.0 3.2-1mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-16mdk Everywhere in KDE CTRL-click allows multi-selection, shift-click is range selection. Not so Umbrello :-) It used shift-click for multi-selection and shift (alone!) for switching back to the last use tool. Don't you guys _ever_ tried multi-selection? ;-) This must be most annoying bug in Umbrello (it is for me!). Resolution: 1. Don't use modifier keys to activate actions 2. Follow the KDE style and use CTRL-click for multi-selection Together, they'd fix this bug.
Subject: Re: [Uml-devel] New: Umbrello doesn't allow ctrl-click to do multi-selection. Annoying: Shift-click works, but switches back to last used tool. Follow the KDE style and use CTRL-click for multi-selection Only Ctrl or also Shift? Steinchen

But _please_ not a modifier key... (I wondered why this was one of the two keys discussed in the docs, though. I've never used this hotkey (except when I didn't want to), so I don't think the keybinding you choose will be that important). > > 2. If you know useful semantics for range-selection in 2d (I don't), then go ahead. Shift-click might be better used to cycle through overlapping objects in a diagram, though. Marc
