Version:           2.2 (using KDE 3.1.92 (alpha2, CVS >= 20030921), yes)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.1 20030811 (Red Hat Linux 3.3.1-1)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.22

Kate hangs up when trying to print a file (tried C++, python files) with hightlight enabled, either as standalone application or enbedded (inside kdevelop)

kate uses the same rendering for the widget and the kprinter, it hangs in an infinite 
loop in the QPainter paintText call :/ 
could be qt bug, or ?

Well, I doubt kdeprint is involved in this problem. Could you track
down the problem inside paintText to see what happens then?
(I don't have access to Linux these times)
