Description Jason Keirstead 2003-09-23 00:15:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

It would be really great if krdc supported the file transfer protocol that UltraVNC uses ( http://ultravnc.sf.net ). I really don't know any of its specifics but it should be do-able.

It isn't clear if libvncclient supports this (their server side does, but the Changelog doesn't really cover client).

Which clients have known-good implementations?
Comment 2 Jason Keirstead 2006-07-31 14:51:18 UTC
See the bug description - UltraVNC is GPL and has support.
Comment 3 Dennis Jansen 2008-08-14 20:54:57 UTC
UltraVNC is currently the best and most comfortable VNC implementation I think. It would be really cook if KDE could be based upon it. But there aren't even Unix packages of Ultravnc at the moment so I think that's not going to happen.
Comment 4 Jason Keirstead 2008-08-15 14:41:21 UTC
There are not UNIX packages sure, but it is all GPL and open source, so implementing things like their file transfer protocol should be relatively simple.
Comment 5 Urs Wolfer 2008-08-16 14:59:15 UTC
Even if it is GPL, a lot of work is required to implement that (I think so at least). Of course it would be a very nice feature, but there are also other things in KRDC which are more requested than this feature.

Anyone is free to start working on this feature if you want to see it ASAP in KRDC :)
