Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux When the screen saver is interrupted on the login screen there will be a pattarn of lines nearly all over the screen. Moving the point over the password field will clear that field. When the screen saver is interrupted during a login session windows will have pattarn garbage on their header and/or trailer.
Running out of the box SUSE on a Gateway GP6-350 with a PII, 258MB RAM, 80GB drive and EV700 display, STB Velocity 128.
screensaver on the login screen? What has that to do with kmail? Strange pattern garbage is most likely a X problem
Subject: RE: The screen saver leaves garbage on the login window and on windows. It probably has nothing to do with Kmail. I was overwhelmed by the complexity of the bug reporting screens and was happy I could report the bug at all. X Windows.... hmmmm. Is there someone at KDE that works with the screen portion of the software that might confirm this? It may be X Windows, or the way in which the refresh event is handled by the screen applications? Sorry, this went to the wrong department. I actually attempted to change that and it appeared I would have to start all over with the bug reporting process. The bug reporter is likely very good for those familiar with the KDE subsystems, but not for this user.
