Description Hendrik Kueck 2003-09-11 06:02:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

It would be very nice to be able to have different sets of editor settings (for the integrated text editor) for different file types.

For example, I want to use and visualize tabs when editing Makefiles.
I want to use spaces instead and not see tabs when editing C++ files.

The editor already has some form of filetype dependency with the syntax highlighting modes. It would be nice to extend this to other settings as well.

Quite obviously a katepart wish. Reassigning.
Comment 2 Jesse 2003-11-03 19:32:07 UTC
This has already been done for Kate cvs. You can now assign all editor variables and options on a per-filetype basis.
