Description Alex Radu 2003-09-08 02:12:48 UTC
Version: 3.1.3 (using KDE KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

When I am loading another website in Konqueror, I can't open links from the current website.

For example, I am on OSNEWS.COM, I click the "Read More" link for one of the stories and while it's loading I try to open another link in a new tab, but nothing happens.

This is especially annoying on dial-up when load times are very long.

I can't confirm this bug with KDE 3.3.2a. Konqueror is still responsive even if there are pages in the background that aren't fully loaded yet. I suppose you have this problem since you have a small internet connection and so the both pages can't be loaded at the same time as the connection bandwith is filled up with the download of the first page.

So this bug can be closed.

Hmm, and I can comfirm some similar behaviour. With Konqueror 3.4.* and now 3.5.1. Try for example http://david.klenot.cz/ - my homepage. Until it loads the counter, performance is very poor (on AMD64 Athlon 3000+), but CPU isn't (over)loaded. So, maybe problem with JavaScript? I see this problem on more pages, not only my. So, please, reopen...
