Description Jean Veronis 2003-08-29 21:57:19 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

KMail worked fine for weeks, but now hangs everytime on retrieving POP mail, making it permanetly unusable. Same behavior after rebooting. Does not depend on the particular mails fetched.

sorry, that backtrace makes so damn no sense - it looks as if your
system is majorly screwed ;(
Perhaps you have problems with your file system?

I'm out of ideas myself. If you haven't changed anything, I can only go back
to my idea of a file system problem - which could be solved by some kind of
KDE RPM reinstallation.

Greetings, Stephan

Do you have SpamAssassin installed?

I had some weird problems with KMail, too, when SpamAssasin was checking the
email-content. It looks up several servers which blocks KMail.

Try to enter these lines in your .spamassassin/user_prefs:

dns_available no
skip_rbl_checks 1
use_dcc 0
check_mx_attempts 0

Greetings, Christian
