Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.2) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 3.2.1 OS: Linux When browsing file systems with konqueror, files and directories that are not readable are identified in the icon view with an overlay icon. This makes it obvious its not worth clicking on them. It would be nice to have an option that does something similar to identify read-only files, so that you know it not worth trying to edit them without altering the permissions first. An application of this would be files in a version controlled directory. If the file is read-only, it may need "checking out" before an attempt is made to change it.
All reports about file management mode reported against KDE 3 (konqueror) has been closed: konqueror in KDE 3 is no more developed and mantained. All bugs and wishes which could be interesting for Dolphin in KDE 4 (the new KDE file manager) has been collected into a specific list. Please try the new file manager before request new features and report bugs. Before submitting new reports check carefully the already opened KDE/Dolphin reports in order not to add duplicates. Many thanks.
