Description Thibaut Cousin 2003-08-08 22:28:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: GCC 3.3
OS: Linux

In Konqueror's multi-column view (file manager mode), there are some layout problems when thumbnails are used. Mostly Konqueror wrongly estimates the size of the thumbnails, so it ends up with icons overlapping each other. I seem to remember that in some cases the labels could also overlap, but I haven't been able to find an example of it.

You can find a snapshot with thumbnails overlapping (at the bottom of columns 1 and 2) at the following URL: http://www.thibaut-cousin.net/thumb-placement.jpg

Thanks for your attention!

Is this the same as #50902?

Comment 2 Kai Lahmann 2003-08-08 22:39:48 UTC
looks like (is also goes away after loading).

I'm not so sure... On my system the problem never goes away, even if I refresh
after all the thumbnails have been computed. And I'm not speaking about the
same view mode as bug #50902 (in mine the text is on the right of the icons,
not below).
I'm not reopening this bugreport, I wait for your opinion.

oh, interesting - here (CVS HEAD) it goes away, as in 50902...
Comment 5 Thibaut Cousin 2003-08-08 22:49:16 UTC
If the bug is solved in HEAD, that's good news! Is it something that could be
backported in a (would-be) 3.1.4?
