Version: gideon cvs kdevelop20030727 (using KDE KDE 3.1.1a) Installed from: Unspecified Linux Compiler: gcc 3.2 OS: Linux Many people use a black on white editor and are quite happy with it. However another bunch of people (like me) use a white on black color scheme (grey on black). It is already possible to change the colors of the embedded konsole to have this color scheme. However, changing the editor colors is a lot more tricky - as a result all the colors highlightings have to be changed by hand. What's more, the backgrounds of the other gideon widgets will remain black on white and that makes it very ugly and inconsistent. I suggest to provide at least two color schemes : black on white and black on white, with the syntax highlighting colors that go well with them.
I've been experimenting lately with different color schemes, mainly changing to blue background to reduce eye strain (it works for me). But some windows in Gideon I haven't been able to adapt. It's very apparent in, for instance, the GREP window, it becomes blue text on blue background, very hard to read, and I didn't find a way to change it.
I actually got the same problem. I would need to change all entries from dark to light and light to dark. I would like to have an import and export button and a exchange or download page on the kdevelop homepage were people can download or upload their color shemata.
It's more a kate issue. I'd guess.
In the latest release KDevelop adheres to the KDE global color style as much as possible. If the editor window doesn't work as expected that is a kate issue.
