just found it out while filing an bug report :)

have a tab with a one line input field (e.g. bugzilla page here) and type some text there. cursor stays in that field. have another tab and change to that tab and back. cursor is still in input field and blinking but it's not possible to enter text until you click in this input field again.

If have looked at this bug with KDE 3.3.2a an it has now a little bit changed:

Now if you click the cursor in the edit field and switch to another tab and then back the cursor is gone but you can write text as the cursor would be still there. The cursor reapears if you click in the edit field.

However it is not necessary that the second tab contains an edit field. It works with all tabs regadless what they display.

I have the same bug on KDE 4.2 (trunk - 19 dec 2008) and Qt 4.4.2.

I confirm this bug on KDE 4.2 RC1 with Qt 4.4.3 (kubuntu packages).

This cannot reproduced in 4.5.4 and is therefore closed.
