Description Maria Cruz 2003-07-07 14:59:27 UTC
Version: KDevelop 2.1.5 using KDE 3.1-10 Redhat (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs

I would like to customize the "commit" CVS command integrated into Kdevelop. Currently, a right click on a file in the "Files" tab will allow me to select "commit". Then a pop-up window appears and request the text to use in the "-m" arg of commit. Then another window appears and shows the CVS command being executed.

I would like to incorporate the "tag" command as a part of this kdevelop "integration". Either add an option for "tag" or as a part of "commit" pop up dialog for "tag value" as well as for "-m arg". and run 2 commands the "cvs commit" followed by a "cvs tag".

Sorry, KDevelop 2.x is no longer under development.

You are strongly advised to update to the latest CVS version of KDevelop3,
code name gideon, take a look at:
http://www.kdevelop.org/index.html?filename=branches_compiling.html
for all the details you need. If you find a problem or need help please send a
mail to the mailing list:
http://www.kdevelop.org/index.html?filename=mailinglist.html
or drop us a line at the channel #kdevelop on the server irc.kde.org using
ksirc, for example.
Please use the CVS version and compile it yourself because that way you can
easily patch it if a bug is found.

KDevelop3 can open Develop2 projects. To do so, goto the "Project -> Open
Project ... " and select
"KDevelop 2 Project Files" in the "Filter:".
You can have and run KDevelop3 and KDevelop2 at the same time on the same
computer without any problems.
So migrating is a breeze. :)

P.S. : The KDevelop team closed over 290 reported and confirmed bugs since the
release of the last KDevelop2.x
The bad news is that KDevelop3 currently has 114 reported bugs :(

According to description this is a wish for the current KDevelop in HEAD ;-)
But CvsPart has now a menu entry for tagging / branching files (adding this feature to
the same commit will be possible when we switch from current parts/cvs to
parts/cvsservice which uses Cervisia HEAD's cvsservice).
So this should be ready to be closed :-)

The version should always remain the same version as the program that the user
had.

Fixed in CVS HEAD by MarioS. Please follow the instructions in the previous
mail to update to KDevelop3 CVS HEAD where the whish has been granted :)
