Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc 3.2.3 OS: Linux When right-clicking the 'Searches' toplevel folder and selecting 'New Folder', I get the standard 'New Folder' dialog. I think it would be more intuitive to perhaps change this to 'New Search', and have it popup the Search dialog instead, as it seems silly to create standard folders under the 'Searches' tree.
However, as now mentioned in bug 37139, searches can take the place of the "virtual folders" used in evolution. This is useful if a message matches multiple filters, but you only want one copy of it -- you can essentially cross-reference. Say I send a message to two people at once. Should I file the message in the actual folder for Person A, or Person B? If I go looking for it in one and its in the other, and forget that I sent it to both, I might think it's lost. Filters can only file the message in one place, which is where searches come in. Consequently, subfolders under the Search item would be quite useful for those of us using searches as virtual folders.
Closing an old bug that looks like it's been taken care of.
