Comment 2 Ingo Klöcker 2003-06-17 01:25:58 UTC
Subject: Re: New: incorrect sigdashes handling signature

Well, this is an example of a pretty weird message. It has the following
structure:
multipart/mixed
 +- text/plain
 +- multipart/alternative
     +- text/plain
     +- text/html
 +- text/plain

When viewed with KMail you don't see the different message parts
(header, body and footer). Instead the message appears to be a simple
text message. If you now reply to this message then KMail only quotes
the first message part. Whether this is correct behavior or not is not
clear to me. We should probably quote all text parts which are not
marked as attachments. It would be interesting to know how other mail
clients (especially mutt) handle this message.

As a workaround you can simply select the text that you want to quote
before you click on Reply.

Replaced n8d10021@rediffmail.com with null@kde.org due to bounces by reporter

The behaviour is still the same in KDE4.1 from Kubuntu packages.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
