Description Mario 2003-06-11 09:01:24 UTC
Version: 1.5 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Unspecified Linux

It is not possible to copy text from a windows application (e.g. Texaide, LaTable etc.) to kile. To all editors the copy and paste between windows and linux works.

'windows application' == 'running in Wine'?
Please specify your Qt version, and whether pasting doesn't work in any input field in Kile, or
whether it works at least in some (single line edits, multi line edits,...).

Subject: Re: Copy and paste problem

Hello,

I'm using SuSE 8.2 with:
kde: 3.1.0
qt: 3.1.1.62

Copy and paste from a windows application to a linux editor works with:

kate, gvim, kwrite, openoffice, console

but fails with:

kedit, kile

But it is possible to copy text from a windows application to the
console of kile or input for file selection!!

Ciao

Mario

It sort of works here:
* select some text in acroread
* paste it in Kile using middle-mouse button: Ok
* paste using Ctrl+V: Failed
* going to Klipper, click on the selected text there and then use Ctrl+V: Ok

Somehow the selection wasn't in the clipboard. Btw, I don't see how this is Kile related, it is all pretty low-level stuff.

best,
Jeroen
