Description RickFriedman 2003-06-05 06:42:28 UTC
Version: 3.1.2 (using KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 3.3 20030226 (prerelease) (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-4GB

I first found this with Konqueror but have since found that it happens with ALL KDE apps (e.g. konsole, kcontrol, k3b, etc.). When the question mark button (in the top right corner of the window) is clicked or the "What's This?" shortcut key combination is pressed (also choosing "What's This?" from the Help menu), the window decorations disappear from all open windows. The app that the action occured in then crashes.

This happens each and everytime I try to access "What's This?"

Following is the backtrace:

I cannot reproduce the problem. The backtrace suggests the problem is in Qt or XFree libs -
please provide their versions numbers.

Comment 2 RickFriedman 2003-06-05 15:26:31 UTC
Hmmm... I hadn't thought about it. Perhaps it could be the QT libs. I'm using
the current beta version of QT.

QT: 3.2.0b1-6
XFree: 4.3.0
Comment 3 Maksim Orlovich 2003-06-05 15:29:38 UTC
Yes, Qt 3.2.0b1 had a bug with this. Please apply the following patch:
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-cvs&m=105326253207508&w=2
