Description Andrew Berry 2003-06-01 21:57:36 UTC
Version: 1.5.2 (using KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-0.16mm-mdk

If there are no spelling errors, the spellcheck window shows but everything is greyed out. If there are errors, the spellcheck works until they are corrected, and then greys everything out. The only way to finish the spellcheck is to close the window, which then reverses any of the spelling corrections. I just upgraded from KDE 3.1.1 to 3.1.2, using texstar's Mandrake RPMs.

Subject: Re: New: spellcheck hangs when everything is correct

I can't reproduce this behaviour with a self-compiled KMail 1.5.2 using
ispell. Are you using ispell or aspell?

Please check that you really updated all RPMs to KDE 3.1.2. If this is
the case, then it would be helpful if you could compile the latest
stable version of KMail yourself. On http://kmail.ingo-kloecker.de
you'll find short instructions how to do this.

Furthermore you could check if other Mandrake users can reproduce this
problem. If yes, then it's probably a problem with texstar's RPMs.

[andrew@mandrake andrew]$ kmail -v
Qt: 3.1.2
KDE: 3.1.2
KMail: 1.5.2

I'm sure that all of the RPM's are 3.1.2. I am using aspell. I will investigate
more and post my findings here.

I have upgraded to the latest texstar RPM's, and the bug appears to be fixed :-)
