Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux If you choose 'logout' from the K menu and end the KDE session while OpenOffice has an unsaved document open, OO will pop up the 'do you want to save the file' message but KDE will kill it completely anyway before you can click yes - OO will then close with the file unsaved. This has the potential to be a large inconvenience, especially if you have OO open on a different desktop and forget that you haven't saved an important file. I appreciate that you can't wait for every program to close on it's own when given a normal kill command, but how about something like a message that says 'the following windows/applications have not shut down - do you want to log off anyway (yes/no)' after say 10 seconds. I use the OpenOffice example as I have experienced this problem with it but I imagine it would affect most programs.
No, it wouldn't affect most programs, unless they're broken like OpenOffice. The timeout dialog may be considered, but this is a problem of OpenOffice, and I suggest you report it as such.
