Version: 3.1 (using KDE 3.1.1) Compiler: gcc version 3.2 OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-pre6 Hi, I don't know if this qualifies as a bug or is better as a wishlist, but here we go: Double-click a contact entry; click the Details tab. Click the birthday date (or the anniversary) drop-down. Set the birthday date (e.g. 10/01/74). Click the down arrow again (note that the birthday gets 'reset' to the current date). Click outside the calendar. The 'new' birthday is the current date. Everything is the same for the anniversary field. In the shortcuts category, note that on the General tab 'Organisation' has O underlined (same as the OK button). On the Details tab, the same goes for 'Office'. Also on the Details tab, Details and 'Department' share the same shortcut letter, D. Hope this helps, Virgil
Hi Virgil, I can' reproduce the bug with the date picker here with CVS HEAD, so I guess it got fixed during the last weeks. Concerning the shortcuts: we use a class, that tries to create the shortcuts automatically. It's not perfect but makes the translators life a lot easier... We'll try to have as less clashes as possible, but we can't avoid all I fear. Ciao, Tobias

Excellent, I'd say. Rreeealy excellent. >Concerning the shortcuts: we use a class, that tries to >create the shortcuts >automatically. That's cool, using an automated shortcut creator :-) On another level, I thought about it long and hard... I am a good C programmer, a decent C++ programmer, but I know nothing about QT or Linux programming in general (I am not familiar with how ./configure or make work). I would be interested in programming for KDE, but I don't know where to start. I was thinking that maybe a good place to do so is that instead of bugging you guys with the (minor) bugs I find, I'd try to fix them first on my own, just to get the feel of it. So, are there any tutorials on really basic stuff, like how to create a window, add menus, write help files and so on? Or, is there a very simple KDE application you know of so that I can study its skeleton and figure out how stuff is done? The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
